Hooch, A Fallen Hero
At Home, surrounded by his family
Hooch crossed the Rainbow Bridge with dignity and grace on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Hooch's triumphant journey is uplifting , inspirational~ one that redefines heroism, bravery, and stoicism. He
walked in the path that all great heroes walk. A legend by his own right~ a fallen hero who will continue to live on throughout
time. Hooch’s
unwavering gentleness earned him the highest of honors while being welcomed as a “Hospice Therapy Working Dog”
wherein he was given the privilege of working with hospice patients to provide warmth and love during their time in need.
Hooch continued to gain notoriety with his “Gentle Giantness” while educating learners of all ages during our
humane education workshops. Hooch’s life came full circle when he earnestly provided affection to other k9 warriors.
He was the Prince of the Ball. The face of SAMA. His spirit was electrifying, magnetic, gentle, and warm. Loved and adored
by many. By far the most adored and
cherished of all~ Weep not for Hooch, but rather celebrate
his life. Honor him and his legacy by continuing to educate others on the importance of the human/animal bond.
My Hooch~ My
izzie. Inseparable we were. With you I found peace and contentment. I found me. Your absence
weighs heavy in my heart. I seek strength through our memories~ memories that seep through my mind when I lie
awake in the darkness of the night. You are my izzie for life. You helped
me grow, learn, and discover life through your eyes. And what a wonderful life I saw. I saw birds fly over head, children
laughing and playing in the field, snowflakes falling from the heavens, I saw the stars fold in the crease of the horizon,
I saw geese wading in the lake, livestock taking life slow; I was awakened, aware of life and all its wonderful stimulations,
I saw life through different eyes all because of you. I cherish the gifts you bestow upon me and thank you tenfold for
allowing me to be a part of your world, your life, your growth. You are and will always remain a valued member of this community,
this organization, and my life. Be brave my boy~ My izzie~run free, explore, and enjoy the other side
as you did here with me- and always remember mommy loved YOU BEST~
Goodbye My Hooch,My izzie for Life Video

In Remembrance of
Hooch, the brightest star in my sky~ One year ago the heavens cried upon us as the Angels dipped their wings - blanketed your
soul and took you HOME.
You keep
me grounded, humble, and real; you etched wisdom into my heart; you enlightened me and brought rays of sun into all of my
days. Though you I saw the wonderments of life. I saw birds fly over head, I heard children laughing in the field, I felt
the snowflakes melt gently upon my face, and discovered the delight of daydreaming in nature and knowing the crackle of the
leaves under my feet. Because of you -I lived. Because of you I stand strong. You continue to be my inspiration, my motivation, my courage,
and my guide to help others who suffer in silence. Other warriors saved because of you, given limitless love because of you,
given my fight, my voice, my peace, and my heart. You left me a better human than I ever was. You are my beloved one, my Izzy for LIFE.
Be brave, Run Free, & Remember Tiss the other side we will meet again. Rest in Eternal Peace
my most cherished and beloved friend. Hooch, May 12, 2010
