The profound weight of loosing a beloved companion is cumbersome and heart-wrenching. We seek solace in knowing we shared a unique and magical love after they depart. We will always remember how blessed are we to have been loved by our Mollie Moo~ Moo. Though Mollie started her journey as a scared, shy, and uncertain soul she quickly flourished into a warm loving companion offering support as a working therapy dog.

Mollie spent countless hours assisting her guardian into being an active member in our community. Visiting nursing homes and creating warmth in a somewhat somber environment. Mollie radiated with warmth, love and an immense desire to please. She won the hearts of many; she was a valued member of her family, k9 companions, and community alike.

Mollie had the sweetest gentlest disposition of any animal we have been among, She carried an innocence that we could only wish for all creatures to posses. She carried sense of dignity and humility. She showed us how a loved dog TRULY transcends into being a HAPPY DOG. Mollie possessed a vast gratitude for our unconditional and continual love. Thank you Mollie for sharing your life with us, for showing us complete trust, love, and devotion. You continue to be the brightest star in our sky.

Mollie's illness

Mollie suddenly began deteriorating from what we believed to be depression, after being cleared of any medical issues, we treated her accordingly with extra hugs, kisses, walks, and I love you’s. But when Mollie’s state of mind continued to decline we opted to explore different possibilities. What we found was immensely devastation for us.
Mollie suffered from a syndrome called Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE) which is a degenerative disease of the brain caused by severe hepatic insufficiency in advanced liver disease. HE causes blood to be diverted around the liver instead of passing through the liver. The liver cannot detoxify the blood and the toxins reach the brain and cause the clinical syndrome.

However, what we later learned was even more devastating to us. We learned that the HE was merely an underline cause to a possible rapid progression of an aggressive cancer that was affecting Mollie's vital organs.
Staying informed, educated, and current with Mollie's illness, symptoms, and prognosis helped us continue to make decisions to help Mollie maintain her dignity throughout her illness.
