Our Angels in Waiting Program
allows us, on a case by case to pull senior animals to saftey from various shelters that are not quite ready to
retire with us at Hooch’s Haven, but still fall into the senior animal genre and after we identify an EXCEPTIONAL
foster family or FOREVER HOME that share our philosophies and love for senior animals. Through this program we hope to educate others on the rewards that come with adopting senior
shelter animals. We
are dedicated to help others understand when adopting a senior animal one is adopting a loyal, loving ready-made best friend.
Cy’s Clause~ Any persons
that Senior Animal Medical Aid Fund Inc will consider for its Angels in Waiting Foster/Adoption Program:

1. Shall have experience in fostering shelter dogs. 2.
Shall have experience with the breed. 3. Shall have experience
in tending to the needs of senior animals. 4. Shall demonstrate
extreme compassion and a profound understanding of the emotional and physical needs of shelter animals. 5.
Shall remain aware of the progression or onset of any medical and/or emotional needs of the animal. 6.
Shall practice the highest ethical standards at all times. 7.
Shall respect and adhere to SAMA’s philosophies. 8.
Shall uphold a 6 month commitment to the animal, SAMA Inc, and the fostering process. 9. Shall reside in the Tri-State
area (NY,NJ,PA,DE,MD). 10. Shall sign
(after application approval) saying if they cannot keep the animal at
no point will the dog be surrendered to a shelter, animal sanctuary, or another rescue group, but rather
be returned back to SAMA Inc. after we identify and approve a new home or after a place at Hooch's

Adoption/Foster
Procedure STEP ONE~(For Adoption) The first step is to schedule a meet and
greet. STEP TWO~(For Fostering/Adoption) Complete
an adoption application. You may request an application via email. mlng@samafund.org Step 1 must be complete for potential
adopters prior. STEP THREE(For Fostering/Adoption)~ Our committee then reviews
the applications. If we have questions we will contact you. If the application is approved we move forward.x STEP
FOUR(For Fostering/Adoption)~ Once the application has been approved we will schedule
a home visit. STEP
FIVE~ Adoption!

 Why Choose a Senior
Unfortunately, these great
companions are often over-looked because of their age. However, consider this... a senior animal brings a sense of calm to
any life-style. An active family will keep a senior animal focused and aware, happy, and young at heart! OR
a senior animal is terrific match for those individuals with an already laid-back life style- as they too love just
kickin' back & being couch potatoes! A senior animal is less demanding as they have already
ventured through the puppy or kitty faze- So taking the laid back approach to life is what the senior animals are all
about. They are loyal beyond measure as their years have enabled them to foster an understanding
of the unique bond between human/animal. They are grateful creatures and wildly understanding. In rescing a
senior animal you will have a ready made best friend who is willing and able to 'walk-down' any road with you. To
be loved by a senior animal is to be loved in the most unexplainable way!!!!
